Summer A
Week 5
We have been writing a lot this week. From descriptive text based on our book Holes, where we described the camp and digging the holes, to a slow write about an eerie street, where each sentence had a specific purpose. We’ve also enjoy reflecting light with mirrors in science, and finished the week off in the bushcraft area. Have a great well deserved week off everyone.
Week 4
SATs COMPLETE! We are so proud of all the children, each and every one of them. They have all shown great resilience and determination on all four days, they should be so proud of themselves. Huge thank you to the parents too for ensuring your children were in on times d ready to go.
We celebrated with a board game afternoon on Thursday, followed by a water fight and pizzas on Friday. Enjoy, kids. You deserve it!
Week 3
Our final week of SATs prep and we are very impressed with the energy the children have brought to their own learning. This week in History, we have been looking at the Battle of Newburn Bridge and in P.E. we have enjoyed playing rounders outside.
Have a very rested weekend doing something you love and come in on Monday feeling positive and refreshed. Remember, you can come to school for 8;15 for a free breakfast so we are full of energy for our SATs.
Don’t worry. You’ve got this!
Week 2
We have been working very hard on the past progressive in English this week. We know it’s a tricky subject but the children have taken everything on board. In maths we’ve been practicing our arithmetic skills and looking at some reasoning questions which require a little more thought.
In Science, we have been learning about the difference between a light source and a reflective surface.
Week 1
Welcome back! We hope you’ve all had a lovely Easter break. In science, we did an experiment with light to see how light travels. We also had a lovely bushcraft day on Thursday, planting trees, toasting marshmallows, tidying up the allotments and making paracord people keyrings.
