Summer A
Week 4
This week we have been coding! The children have been designing their own maze game, creating various levels, each one more tricky than the next. They also became testers by testing out each others games and give feedback on ways to improve playability. Within our computing module we also learnt about databases and best methods to store, sort and present date. In maths we have been calculating missing angles and in English we have continued our story Clockwork.
Week 3
You did it! Well done to everyone during this last week. You handled your SATs with determination and focus and for that, we couldn’t be more proud. On between SATs we managed to fit in some art which you can see in the gallery below. Photos of the water fight and pizzas will be on next week.
Week 2
This week, we took some time to celebrate VE Day as a whole school. In class, we designed our own medals and coins to commemorate the day. In English we have been very impressed with the children’s writing. Using appealing and persuasive language, they have written a piece encouraging people to visit Glockenheim, the town from our book, Clockwork. They have also written diary entries showing Karl’s frustrations at struggling to make a figurine for the clock to show to the town.
Week 1
We hope you have all had a great Easter break.
We’ve been straight back into it with calculating angles in maths and practicing our arithmetic skills.
In English, we have started our new book called Clockwork by Philip Pullman. We have been predicting what we thing the book is about based on the front cover and, after reading the first few pages, we have written a postcard to our class detailing our feeling and senses as if we were there.
