Autumn Term B
This week we enjoyed our school Christmas dinner in the hall, complete with Christmas music! It was delicious!
On Friday, Year 1 travelled to the North Pole where we saw Santa in his gorgeous Grotto! Mrs McHatton met us there and made us some warming hot chocolate while we sat around the campfire. Santa then sent a chocolate treat down his magic slide to each child - he really enjoyed listening to our Christmas songs! What a magical morning with lots of happy memories 😊🎅
This week we wrapped up warm and went outside to practise throwing and catching. As well as having fun, our skills really improved with practice! 😊🎾
We practised and performed our class Nativity play this week which has been videoed for you. Here is a sneak preview of how fab-u-lous we look in our costumes!
We had great fun this week learning about Samuel Pepys, who kept a diary of the events of the Great Fire of London. We remembered lots of interesting information, such as where and how the fire started, how long it lasted and why the fire spread.
As History Detectives, we had to think about the reasons that the fire spread and why it lasted so long (4 days and nights!). Here we are putting the reasons for the spread of the fire in order of importance.
Week 2 Autumn Term 2
On Friday, we dressed up for Children In Need Day. Don't we look fabulous?! Thank you so much for your donations :)
Our History topic this term is The Great Fire of London. We have been history detectives and looked at London past and present to find out what it would have been like in 1666.
Homework 9.11.20
We have been working on our addition skills in class so have sent home some addition homework this week. The children need to draw the counters and record the total.
