Autumn Term B

Week 6

This week, Year 5 have been developing their design technology skills. First of all they tasted and evaluated several types of bread. As the week went on, the children then developed their own bread ideas and made them a reality. Yummy!!!!!

Christmas Jumper Day and Dinner too!

Covid did not stop are Christmas dinner as Wendy and her team cooked up a storm. Thank you!!!!

Week 5

This week the children have been revisiting how to stay safe online. They created some posters to warn others of things they need to consider and look out for.

Week 4

Over the last two weeks, Year 5 have been looking at art and monuments linked to WW1. The children made sketches, practised colour mixing and then used different mediums to create their fantastic finished masterpieces.

These children received a certificate today. Well done!

Week 3

This week, the children have been learning about the role of different animals during World War I. Below are some videos of the children reading their diary extracts from the perspective of different war animals.

Head Teacher Accolade goes to...

Mr MingStones joined year five for their Friday certificate award ceremony. Adele was chosen to receive the headteacher accolade this week for her first for learning.

The children have been learning all about square and cube numbers.

Week 2

This week the children have been asked to learn the poem ‘In Flanders Field’ by John McCrea. The children did a moving recitation even though the wind tried to stop them. Well done Year 5 - I am very proud of you all.

This week, the children have been learning all about multiples and factors in Maths. The children used counters to make arrays and establish factors of numbers. As you can see, they We’re really engaged in their learning.
