Packed Lunch Guidelines

We respectfully request that parents try to provide their children with a nutritonally-balanced packed lunch and ask that the following items are not included:

• chocolate bars (not biscuit based)
• energy drinks or fizzy drinks
• jellies or sweets

NB It is forbidden to bring in nuts to avoid potentially life-threatening situations due to individuals' needs.

School Lunches

Our school chef Wendy and her dedicated team prepare fresh, hot and cold meals for our children every day here at West Denton Primary.  We have a wide range of daily options and can cater to all dietary requirements.  Every day there are always two hot main meal choices (including one vegetarian option).  Meals are served in our school hall from 11.45am to 1pm. 

School meals are priced at £2.10 per day for Nursery children and £2.20 day for children in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6. Children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are all entitled to Universal Free School Meals.  We are unable to accept any cash payments.  School meals can be paid online via our ParentMail app.  It is not possible to extend any form of credit for school meals.   

We ask all parents and carers to check if your child is entitled to Free School Meals by making an application here.  If you feel that you may be eligible for Free School Meals you can also ask for a form from the school office, which they will scan to the Local Authority on your behalf, once completed .

Packed lunches may be brought to school and eaten in the school-dining hall. Children are supervised during the lunch break, both in the hall and on the schoolyard, by supervisory assistants in accordance with Local Authority policy.
