Summer Term A
King's Coronation
What a brilliant day we had on Thursday celebrating as a whole school. In Nursery we have made our own throne, an afternoon tea role play and dress up clothes to throw a party. The children took their own photographs on the iPad using the coronation photo props.
Ice Cream Treat
We had a fantastic surprise when an ice cream van paid us a visit. Everyone had a lolly or an ice cream treat as part of our coronation celebration.
Pass the Parcel
Nursery played a pass the parcel party game to win a coronation rubber duck.
Coronation Crowns
A game of I-Spy and a number colouring crown challenge.
Chicks
Awww! How cute are the chicks that have hatched from eggs in the Reception class? We loved giving chick cuddles!
Bushcraft Exploring
What an exciting Friday we have had for our very first visit to the 'bushcraft area'.
Celebrating Eid
What a lovely week we have had celebrating Eid with some interesting creative activities. The children have really loved learning about the celebration and are beginning to understand different religions.
We have been learning about the 'festival of the breaking of the fast' that marks the end of Ramadan. Ramadan is a month long holiday when Muslims fast, or go without food and drinks during daylight. During Eid al-fitr Muslims go to the mosque, have a feast with their families and give money to charity. Nursery made Eid cards, moon and star biscuits, mehndi hand designs and collage prayer mats.
