Summer Term A
Summer 1 Week 6
A huge well done to all of our children who received Achievers Certificates this week. Maycee, Ethan, Matthew, Eva and Carter were really pleased to get an award - well done! 😊🏆
Following on from our fabulous non-fiction writing about barn owls last week, we decorated some barn owl cupcakes 🦉🧁! The children had fun decorating them and you’ll be pleased to know they tasted delicious! 😋
The proof of the pudding is in the eating! 🦉🧁😋
Summer 1 Week 5
Congratulations to our children receiving certificates this week, who were very pleased with their Achiever’s Awards! Well done to William, Ellie, Ethan, Maia and Theo 😊🏆
We enjoyed listening to the story Veg Patch Party by Claire Foges and Al Murphy. We even had a boogie along with the musical YouTube version of the story! 😊🥕🥦🥔
We have been learning about barn owls so that we can write information about them. We enjoyed watching video clips about these beautiful birds from the Barn Owl trust. Look at our super non-fiction writing! 🦉
We have been practising our number bonds to ten to help improve our mathematical fluency. We used a great maths game called Hit The Button (which is free to use - just google Hit The Button) and is brilliant for practising times tables, doubles and halves as well as number bonds. We enjoyed trying to beat our score! Our best score so far is 12/12 😊👍
Summer 1 Week 4
Well done to our children who received an Achievers certificate this week, presented by Mr MingStones! Danny, Jackson, James and Joe were very proud! Maycee was really pleased to get the Headteacher’s Award 🏆👍.
We all really enjoy our Feel Good Friday, which is a live streamed music lesson by Rock Steady Music, who also provide in person music lessons in school for some of our KS2 children. As you can see, we have some fabulous dancers in our class, who love joining in with the grand finale! 😊💃🕺
Summer 1 Week 3
Congratulations to our children who received an Achiever’s Certificate this week. Nate, Lacey, Carter, Thomas and Bluebell were all very proud of their achievements! 😊🏆
Friday was Number Day to raise funds for the NSPCC. Thank you to all of our families for your donations. The children looked great in their clothes with numbers on, and we played a fun game of Bingo to practise our number skills. Eyes down for a full house!
In ICT, we have learned about databases and have been finding ways to group information and objects. We found different ways to sort 2D shapes.
Summer 1 Week 2
Well done to our 5 children who received an Achiever’s Award this week. Emily, Eva, Joey, Matthew and Reece were very pleased with their certificates! 😊🏆
The children have been planted seeds this week. We hope that despite the changeable weather, they will grow into broad bean plants that can be planted in our school allotment and be harvested later in the year! 🤞🌱
We watched an online NSPCC assembly this week. The message was for children to Speak Out and Stay Safe. The children learned that they can speak to a trusted adult if they have a worry, big or small. They also found out about Childline and that there is a helpline to call if any child needs advice. They enjoyed seeing Ant & Dec doing the introduction!
We have had fun this week measuring length using cubes.
