Autumn Term B
Curriculum Letter for Parents Autumn B
We’ve had a very Christmassy week, with a visit from Santa, Christmas dinner, making Christmas cards and calendars and finally our Christmas party. We hope you all have a great Christmas and we’ll see you in the new year.
We have been doing a cold write in English this week all about planet Earth. In maths, we have been continuing with adding and subtracting fractions and in P.E. we have been keeping fit doing some Les Mills. Please see some photos in the gallery below.
The school has a real Christmas vibe to it now as every class has their Christmas tree up. We’ve been practicing and filming our Christmas songs throughout the school and we look forward to sharing that with you next week. We’ve looked a tsunamis and earthquakes in topic, fractions in maths, and finished our Edgar the Dragon story.
We had a great day at the cinema on Friday morning. The children's behavior was impeccable and they were a pleasure to take. In English this week we have been writing about Edgar the Dragon. The work produced was really impressive and very enjoyable to read. Well done Year 6. We also had a further visit from the River Trust.
This week we had a visit from the River Trust, telling us all about the fish in the rivers, animals that use the river and how important the river is in general. We have also been using saws in bushcraft ready to make something special for Christmas. Watch this space.
Below is a video of our Remembrance Day which you might like to watch. Below the video are some photos of our week. We’ve done a treasure hunt in Geography and drawn snowman for Mrs Jenks as well as our usual busy week.
Year 6 Remembrance Day
We’ve had a great first week back. On Wednesday we had a morning with Mrs McHatton in the gardens and Bushcraft area. The children all worked really hard clearing in the gardens. We have continued our book on Holes and done some firework activities.
