Spring Term A
Week 3
Six Dinner Sid
What a fun and busy week we have had in reception. We read the book 'Six Dinner Sid' by 'Inga Moore' and discussed the different ways our pets sleep and eat at home. We used our amazing Phonics knowledge to write sentences to describe Sid from our story. The children also enjoyed a visit from the Dogs Trust, we learned how to look after dogs and how to keep them safe in our homes.
Week 2
The Chinese New Year
This week the children have been learning all about Chinese New Year and how people celebrate it. We looked at Chinese traditions, taste tested Chinese food and made dancing dragon puppets. In our story 'The Chinese New Year' by 'Joanna Troughton' we found out how the animals decided who the new year will be named after.
