Week 4

We have had a fabulous, super busy week this week. On Monday we had a lovely afternoon building shelters for minibeasts and small creatures. Then on Wednesday we went on a visit to Kirkley Hall. We drove up in the minibuses and when we arrived we were met our guide Jessica. We spent the morning with Jessica learning how importand the woodland and trees are and we used natural materials that we found on the forest floor to creat pictures. After lunch, we then went to the zoo. We visited the discovery room where we saw lots of facinating animals and creatures including spiders, snakes, lizards, monkeys and frog's. Then we went into another room Emma and John got out a corn snake,  a bearded dragon lizard and a stick interest. We all got to touch them and hold the stick insect. Afterwards we went outside and met even more animals including bush dogs, donkeys, rabbits, guinea pigs, lama's, merecats and lots of other animals and learned interesting facts about them. We had the best day!

Week 1

It has been a fantastic first week back and brilliant to see all the children back in school looking so smart in their new uniforms and pleased to see their friends. It has also been lovely to see the end of the strict bubbles and be able to mix and have a bit of normality back too.

This week in Maths we have been developing out understanding of place value and using the Base 10 apparatus to help us to develop this learning even further. We have made a super start to the year in English too writing some super informative letters all about ourselves. In Art we have started to develop our sketching skills by drawing portraits of our friends.
