‘A Stepping Stone into the Future’

Service to Others

Our children live out the WDPS Core Value of 'Caring' by tidying up a family room.  As they progress through the school,  they provide community service to our neighbours in  West Denton and in other Newcastle communities.

Working with the fabulous charity Feeding Families, our children have been helping by giving up their time to help pack much needed hampers for the community.

Our children have been litter picking to help improve where they live and support the local environment.

Working with the River Trust - learning about rubbish and why we must fight against litter being dropped.

Our Year 5 children giving their time to work with the residents of Whorlton Grange.

Supporting Newcastle Council to plant the Tiny Forest in the community near our school.

As part of being a community hub for litter picking equipment, our children have been using the equipment to litter pick in and around our school.

Our children across the school have all been taking part in Litter picking to support the clean up of our local area. We are working with Morrisons, our local councillors and River Trust .

Again our fantastic children and their families have donated sweet treats and toiletries for Helping Others Together.

As part of whole school Service to Others, our children and families sent in very generous donations or food to help those in desperate need of support. We were overwhelmed with their generously as were the People’s Kitchen.

Years 5 and 6 have been making the paths in the Bushcraft Area by adding fresh chippings to them to prevent people from slipping. They have also been adding some pumpkins from our allotments to make it look Autumnal.
