‘A Stepping Stone into the Future’

Spring A

  Making Sandwiches

We have changed our role play area into a cafe.  The adults supported the children taking on the roles of chefs, customers and waiters/waitresses in our busy cafe.

At group time we talked about what sandwiches we like to eat and the children helped to make a shopping list for items needed to make their own

Mrs Hughes did the shopping and the children were excited to make their own sandwiches, spreading the butter and choosing their fillings.  Delicious!

 Jam Tarts

Today Nursery have been busy making jam tarts.  We helped to mix, knead and roll the pastry. To make our jam tarts we used, short crust pastry,  strawberry jam, a rolling pin, a teaspoon, a circular cutter and a bun tray.  We all agreed they were tasty!

 Goldilocks and the Three Bears

Nursery helped Goldilocks to taste test different porridge toppings.  Which topping makes the porridge 'just right'?

 Pancake Day

The children all helped to make traditional pancakes to mark the beginning of lent.  They measured, mixed and whisked.  Nursery enjoyed trying different toppings, they were delicious!

Love is in the Air!

We celebrated Valentines Day by making cards for our loved ones and by decorating heart collages.
