Week 3
Firstly, a huge congratulations to our year 6 children, who showed incredible perseverance and determination their SATs this week, we are incredibly proud of each and every one of them.
Lots of soggy fun was had at their water fight and pizza party.
We spend our afternoon lessons studying Claude Monet and Impressionist painting.
Week 2
Celebrating VE Day was wonderful, we dressed in red, white and blue and completed various activities while learning all about it. In maths we have been calculating the volume of shapes and preparing for SATs next week. We are loving reading Clockwork and have been finding out more about the setting. In Bushcraft we showed our creative skills using clay and we were fascinated by all of the frog and tadpoles in the pond.
Week 1
We’ve had a busy first week back and in English we’ve started to study a new book- Clockwork by Philip Pullman. We’ve been writing a précis and making predictions about the book. In Maths we’ve been plotting coordinates and finding the area of triangles and parallelograms. In Design Technology, we’ve been investigating the strength of different shapes beams as part of our Bridges topic.
