Week 5

 

This week in Maths the children have been ordering coins and counting amounts with money.   In P.E. we have enjoyed to practicing our races for sports day.   Mrs. Williams has been taking the children for cycling. In Art the children have completed some observational drawings of leaves and used the leaves for some printing. On Wednesday some of the class received their Life Skills Challenge Award certificate from Sir Graham Wylie.  The class also enjoyed watching the dress rehearsal of the year 6 leavers assembly.

Week 4

 

This week in class the children have been using resources to make numbers to 100 with dienes.  In English the children wrote about their favourite parts of the visit  to Alnwick Gardens.  In P.E. we have enjoyed to practicing our races for sports day.  The children enjoyed having some of the year 5 children to come into the class and listen to them read. Mrs. Williams has been taking the children for cycling. On Wednesday the class had  a workshop about the impact on children moving to our country.

Week 3

 

This week in class the children have been ordering numbers to 100 and partitioning two digit numbers.  In English we have written  a poem about the magic box.  In P.E. we have enjoyed to practicing our races for sports day.  Mrs. Williams has been taking the children for cycling. On Wednesday the class had a fantastic time at Lilidorie at Alnwick Gardens.

Week 2

 

This week in class the children have been finding a quarter of a shape and amount in Maths. We have been enjoying lots of reading in class and completing reading comprehensions. In English we have started a poetry topic looking at the The Magic Box by Kit Wright.  In P.E. we have started to practice our races for sports day.  Mrs. Williams has been taking the children for cycling. On Thursday the children enjoyed an Art afternoon linked to Science. At the end of each day the children enjoyed reading part of the story to the class.

Week 1

 

This week in class the children have been finding half of a shape and amount in Maths. We have been enjoying lots of phonic activities to get ready for the phonics screening next week, including using the Ipads and accessing Phonics Play, trash and treasure games and word sorts.  It was great to share Daisy's gymnastics trophy with the class.
