‘A Stepping Stone into the Future’

Spring Term B

Week 3

What a fantastic time the children have had this week in our bushcraft area!  They made a friend from a stick and gave it a name.  Nursery then had to share their stick friends super power and we all tried to copy it.  We tried hopping, flying, dancing, jumping and twirling.

Nursery then made a minibeast from pine cones and pipe cleaners.  The children ended their session with some free play in the den areas and can't wait to go out again next week.

Week 2

The children celebrated 'World Book Day' by dressing up in a costume of their choice.  The children were also invited to bring in a book to swap with a friend.  Everyone was pleased to take home a new story to read that night.

Week 1

The children all came back full of smiles and happy to see their friends after the half term holiday.

This week it was Pancake Tuesday.  Some children helped to make the batter before Mrs Taylor cooked them.  All the children agreed that the chocolate pancakes were the best.  We also tasted golden syrup and lemon with sugar pancakes.

This week we have started going into our bushcraft area with Mrs McHatton.  We explored the area and discovered frogspawn in the pond and some great den areas.  Mrs McHatton showed us how to look for insects, which we found under the bark of a tree. All the children will work in the bushcraft area this half term on a Monday or a Wednesday.
