Week 6
This week the children have enjoyed our Art topic of African art. They have created their own patterns and designs using geometric
shapes. The children created an African sunset using pastels and added silhouettes of plants and animals.
In Maths the children have been comparing numbers using the less than and greater sign symbols. In P.E. they have continued to create routines to music, pretending to be toys. The class have also worked very hard during the phonics sessions in their assessments.

Week 5
The children have enjoyed yet another busy week in class. In Maths we have been using apparatus to show tens and ones and representing numbers in different ways. Our new Art topic is African art and the children have been doing observational drawings of African masks. On Wednesday the class enjoyed the outdoors with Mrs. McHatton. In Computing the children have been using simple spread sheets and creating their own, colouring cells and sorting data. Unfortunately there are no photographs this week due to the class iPad being updated.

Week 4
The children have been working very hard in class this week. In Maths the children have been recording related addition and subtraction facts. In P.E we have continued the dance unit, the children have created their own pirate routines to music. In PSCHE we have been looking at how to look after each other, including themselves, family, pets and the environment.

This week the children have enjoyed learning about the 1960’s, they have organised some events on a timeline. They enjoyed drawing their favourite toys and comparing them to toys in the 1960’s. In maths they have been working hard on their subtraction skills and in English they have written stories about an octopus in their kitchen.

Week 2
The children have a very busy week in class this week. On Tuesday the Happy Puzzle Company came into the school and the children had to work together to solve the puzzles. In Maths, we have been learning how to subtract crossing ten. On Wednesday they enjoyed the outdoors with Mrs. McHatton in the Bush Craft area. We have continued with the dance unit in P.E, putting together movements to the music. In Computing we are learning how to create a spread sheet and record information.

Week 1
The children have had a busy first week back in class. It has been lovely to hear about their Christmas break and the presents they received. In Maths this week we have been adding by counting on using Numicon and a number line. The children have been writing their wishes for the coming year. In P.E. we have started the unit of dance, the children really enjoyed the warm up game milkshake. They listened to the music track and kept in time, creating their own routine.
