Daily Read Write Inc. Phonics Lesson
Read Write Inc. are streaming a daily speed sounds film which will be available for 24 hours via FB and on YouTube. Parents can sign up to either their Facebook page or their YouTube channel. Set 2 and 3 speed sounds are taught in Year 1 and in Year 2 if children are reading Read Write Inc. colour band books. Please see below for guidance:
Speed Sounds Set 2 - 10.00 am
Speed Sounds Set 3 - 10.30 am
- Set 2 Speed Sounds: ay ee igh ow oo oo ar or air ir ou oy
- At school, they will read Read Write Inc. Phonics Pink, Orange and Yellow Storybooks.
- Set 3 Speed Sounds: ea oi a–e i–e o–e u–e aw are ur er ow ai oa er ire ear ure
- At school, they will read Read Write Inc. Phonics Blue and Grey Storybooks.
Films for Parents
Films for parents to help their child learn to read at home with Read Write Inc. Phonics are available on their website and YouTube channel.
The YouTube channel will be redesigned shortly to help parents find the films easily.
They will add a parent film to Facebook every day.
Teach Your Monster to Read
Skip to game 2 or 3 for children in year 1/2. Game 2 is called 'Fun With Words' and is for children who are confident with early letter sound combinations and are starting to read simple sentences. Game 3 is called 'Champion Reader' for children who are confidently reading short sentences and know all of the basic letter sound combinations.

Fonetti
A child could use this app for further independent reading once they have successfully completed their school’s phonics programme.
