London
Day 3
Our final day exploring London has been brilliant. We spent the day exploring the Tower of London and learning all about it's fascinating history from missing princes, housing unusual animals, the famous people imprisoned there and unusual escape plots!
Some definite highlights were: seeing the splendor of the Crown Jewels, the dragon sculpture in the armoury, speaking to the Beefeaters and an excellent workshop about crime and punishment.
We are so proud of our children, their behaviour has been impeccable and we even received an email from a passenger on the Tube commending them. They have walked almost twenty miles in three days and made memories for life.
Day 2
Action packed day 2!
We began our day with a walk to Leicester Square and a visit to the Lego and M&M store while taking in the movie star statues and then it was off to Trafalgar Square to see Nelson's column and the fabulous fountain. After a beautiful walk through St.
James' Park, squirrel and pelican spotting, we stopped for a beautiful picnic in the spring sunshine.
Then we were off to the Palace Mews for an excellent workshop about the monarchy and we even got to see the incredible gold carriage used in the coronation!
More sightseeing took us to the Horse Guards, Downing Street, Big Ben, the London Eye and Westminster. A cruise along the Thames, admiring the incredible buildings, old and new, of our capital city from the river was brilliant but the absolute highlight was the Big London Quiz of 2026 back at the Youth Hostel which was very competitive and full of laughs.
DAY 1
Today started with VIP treatment on the train- we were all given biscuits and water and a tour of the driver's cab, which was well worth the early start. The children have loved experimenting and playing in the Science Museum and exploring the Natural History Museum, especially looking at the giant dinosaur skeletons and experiencing what an earthquake would be like.
