‘A Stepping Stone into the Future’

Summer B

Week 5

This week the children have been exploring position and direction. They are really good at giving directions using left, right, forwards, backwards, above and below. We built small models using directions. In English we have been matching lower and upper case letters.

Week 4

On Thursday we had a visit from Jenny King who works with refugees. Together they had written a book about their experiences that Jenny shared with us. The children listened really well and asked some really thoughtful questions. They then decorated fabric tiles that will be sewn together to make a scarf, like the one in the story.

Week 3

The children have had a busy week. They really enjoyed their trip to Lilidorei and had so much fun. The visitors to Alnwick Garden also had fun watching our children enjoying themselves.

Week 2

The children have been enjoying the story Alan’s big scary teeth and they have rewritten the beginning, working hard writing sentences with capital letters and full stops. In maths we have begun learning about fractions. They are enjoying their cycling lessons.

Week 1

The children have settled back into school after their break. They have been working hard writing a character description of The Highway Rat. They have continued their work on Kenya and in maths the children have been grouping and sharing.
