Spring Term B
Week 5
What a week! In maths, we’ve been learning how to read and draw line graphs. In English, we’ve been doing analysis on some work called The Piano. On top of our SAT’s practice, we’ve had lots of highlights like being treated to a Rock Steady Concert featuring our fellow pupils. They were amazing and we were blown away by their talent. We’ve also enjoyed a Spanish day where the children participated or supported a football match between the Year 6’s. This was followed by a Spanish quiz and finished off with some delicious Churros. We’ve also had the Easter egg competition and an assembly all about hedgehogs. We’ve certainly fit a lot in.
We hope you enjoy a well earned break this Easter.
Week 4
We’ve had lots of activities this week, with Bushcraft on Wednesday, an NSPCC workshop on Thursday and an attendance assembly on Friday. On top of all that we’ve also been looking at volume and mass in maths, continued our SAT’s preparations, and spent a few days planning, editing and finally writing a non chronological report all about climate change in English. Well done year 6, you have worked put in lots of effort this week.
Week 3
It’s been a shorter week this week with the strike action, but we still worked just as hard. We continued with our practice SAT papers in Maths, SPAG and reading.
Week 2
We’ve been continuing with our SAT’s prep but on Tuesday, we took part in an NSPCC Stay Safe assembly. Later in the week, the children enjoyed watching a play called Wolf on Trial and then we all did an acting masterclass where we pretended to be different characters from the play. You can see some photos of this below. Fright Forest is our new class reading book.
Week 1
We welcomed back the children after the half term break with afternoons earning about the British Empire in History. The children also enjoyed an afternoon in Bushcraft with Mrs McHatton. We are now starting our SATs prep so the children will be doing lots of test papers to familiarise themselves with the layout.
