School Uniform
Thank you for supporting us in ensuring that our children are wearing the recommended school uniform which also includes black shoes. By wearing the recommended school uniform all children can take pride in being a member of WDPS. It also gives them a strong feeling of identity. Not only is the uniform smart and practical, but it can also save wear and tear on more expensive fashionable clothes.
School Uniform
School uniform consists of:
- grey shorts or trousers,
- skirt or pinafore (blue checked dress in summer),
- light blue polo shirt or blouse,
- royal blue sweatshirt / cardigan displaying the school logo,
- book-bag (this can be purchased from the school office),
- sensible, low-heeled black shoes (not trainers).
P.E. and Games
On the days that children have P.E., they should come to school wearing their PE clothes.
Children in Nursery do P.E. and games in bare feet, underpants and vest.
The P.E. uniform is:
- Plain white round neck T-shirt (no logo)
- Plain black shorts (no Logo)
- Sand-shoes or trainers for indoor/outdoor games
The children may wear black joggers and their school sweat top for outdoor games in colder weather.
Bushcraft
The children also need wellington boots for bushcraft. They should come to school wearing appropriate outdoor clothing on the days that they have bushcraft.
Purchasing School Uniform
Many items are available with the school logo on. So that uniform is affordable for all, and in line with Government guidelines, we have introduced iron-on logos for the school sweatshirt or cardigan. Uniform can be ordered by visiting https://studentuniform.co.uk/wdps168. When you use this link, you will need to register an account the first time using your email address and set up with a password.
All uniform is made to order and at peak times can take 3-4 weeks for delivery.
Uniform is no longer stocked within school.
NB Families often donate uniform that their children have grown out of. Parents are invited to take this for their children periodically throughout the academic year.
Trousers, skirts, polo shirts, sweatshirts, cardigans and PE kit can be purchased through most clothing outlets including economically- friendly supermarkets.
Labelling
We recommend that all items of clothing/property are clearly named or labelled. It is helpful to write names on labels at the beginning of each half term and this can also save you money in the long run. We do encourage children to try to take responsibility for their clothes and equipment. If your child loses anything, get them to look in a lost property box before approaching their class teacher. The WDPS admin office does not hold any lost property.
