‘A Stepping Stone into the Future’

Summer A

Planting

Its that time of year to get green fingered.  The children re-planted seeds from last years sunflowers heads to grow their own individual flower.  They discovered that the seeds from a tomato can then grow more tomato plants and learn about what plants need to grow and thrive.  They love to look after the plants, water them and protect them.  It has opened up lots of lovely discussions, observations and enriched language development.

Weighing

We have be learning how and what to use the scales for.  Developing the skills to predict which is heaviest/lightest, use resources to measure weight and extend their language with new vocabulary.

Bushcraft

We had an exciting little visit to the Bushcraft pond today to see the frogs and frogspawn.  The frogs were enjoying the warm sun as they floated near the surface for us to see.
