Summer Term A
Week Five
This week has been jam packed with Jubilee celebration preparations. The children have been comparing life today with that in 1952, writing biographies about Queen Elizabeth II, learning the National Anthem and reading The Queen's Knickers and then designing their own. The children then paraded around the track to show off their designs to the rest of the school. Luckily, the weather held and we had a fantastic time.
We hope your Jubilee celebrations go well and wishing you all a happy half term and see you on Wednesday 8th June 2022.
Kind regards

Week Four
The children have really been getting to grips with decimals this week and our heads were hurting - just a little.
The children have blown me away with their descriptive writing based around our class text 'Dragon Mountain'. If you are sitting comfortably, please enjoy the children reading the fruits of their labours.
Have a lovely weekend!
Kind regards

Week Three
The Year 5s have been continuing to create a 'Life Manual' and because this is Mental Health Awareness Week, they have been creating posters, writing meditations as well as producing a list of top tips to be more organised and reduce stress.
The children were living out and completing an important section of the Life Skills Challenge Aware by litter picking in the local area. What an eye opener! It has certainly made me think and our invitation to everyone is to -Use a bin please!
Also in our weekly photos, please look out for this week's Achievers'. Well done children - you make me proud everyday.
Have a wonderful weekend!.

Week Two
No two weeks are the same at WDPS and there is always fun or exciting things happening. On Tuesday, the children enjoyed their 'Changing Bodies' lesson with the school nurses. It was very informative and the children were mature and sensible throughout.
The children have been learning to multiply fractions with whole numbers as well as finding fractions of amounts.
Year 5 have also been creating their own healthy and exciting recipes. Watch this space!
Today the children were treated to a surprise when they got to spend time with the chicks and it was wonderful to see their faces light up..
