Equality and the Curriculum
At WDPS we have an inclusive ethos and we ensure when we are developing our curriculum; that we comply with the latest equalities legislation and guidance about making the curriculum accessible for all with disabilities or special educational needs.

Our youngest children in school, the Nursery and Reception classes are taught within the school's Foundation Stage. The Early Years curriculum is based on the recommended 'Early Years Foundation Stage Framework'.
The school uses the phonics scheme Read Write Inc. from Foundation stage and throughout Key Stage 1. This is then built on in KS2 by using the Reading Plus scheme which promotes reading stamina and the acquisition of high-level reading and thinking skills.
