Week 4
In English the children have created a beware poster, warning the children about the enormous crocodile. In Maths the year 2 children have been learning to tell the times, using o'clock and half past. The year one children have been creating arrays using the numicon boards and pegs. In Art the children painted their leaf sculptures using water based paints and metalic paints to add detail. In Science the class completed a pictogram of how many day light hours there are throughout the seasons.

Week 3
In English we have continued with the story of the Enormous Crocodile, writing about the clever croc's tricks and making some new ones. In Maths the children have been counting in twos' fives and tens and finding fractions of amounts. In History we had a visit from Mr. Davies, Mrs. Elliot's dad, where the children asked him questions about his school days and what is was like. In Art the children sculpted leaves using clay, using the tools to shape and add detail.

Week 2
In English we have continued with the story of the Enormous Crocodile, recording the beginning, middle and end. In Maths the children have been finding quarters of shapes and amounts. In Science we have learning about Seasonal Changes, linking events throughout the year to the correct season. On Thursday we celebrated VE day, remembering the end of World War two which ended on the 8th May 1945. In P.E we have practiced sending and receiving using beanbags and tennis balls, improving partner work and coordination.

Week 1
The children have come back ready to learn and have been working very hard in class this week. In English we have been predicting what happens in out new story The Enormous Crocodile by Roald Dahl. In Maths the children have been finding half of shapes and amounts. In History we have been ordering images of schools from the past until the present on a timeline, as well as writing questions to ask a visitor about what was school like (living memory). In Art we have been doing some observational drawings from nature.
