Spring B
Week 5
We were chefs in Year 3 this week as we made our own pizzas using our pizza oven in the allotments. The children had great fun designing their own pizza boxes and chef's hats and even more fun trying some delicious pizza. In maths, we have continued working hard on fractions, and in English the children wrote their own explanation texts about what causes earthquakes.
Week 4
We have been working hard comparing and ordering fractions in maths this week. In Art, we continued our Pop Art topic, with the children painting their prints they created last week using bright and bold colours. We also made Mother's Day cards this week.
Week 3
We are looking at non-fiction texts this half term and have been reading about earthquakes and tsunamis. The children have enjoyed learning about key features of non-fiction texts and have learned some great facts! In Art, we used ink to create some prints based on Pop Artist Andy Warhol's blotted line technique. The children really concentrated and they look fantastic!
Week 2
This week, the children worked hard in the allotments. We were impressed with their weeding skills and the gardens are starting to look their best for Spring!
Week 1
We celebrated World Book Day this week, and it was great to see the children either in costumes or wearing pyjamas ready to share a story. We visited the school library, discussed our favourite books and authors, and took part in some fun World Book Day activities.
