Week 6
The children really enjoyed their Sports Day this week. It was lovely watching them try so hard and cheer on their classmates. They have also been working with money, recognising coins and making amounts.

Another busy week in Year 1. It was so lovely seeing our friends perform in the Rock Steady concert! They were amazing, we were very proud of them.




Week 4
The children have had another busy working hard. They have been developing this understanding of place value of numbers to 100. They continue to work hard in their phonics group. The children have been learning about Sikhism and in history they have been discovering what happens at a coronation and what a king does.

The children enjoyed seeing many of you today for the Achievers assembly. Thanks for coming.
On Thursday we had visitors from the university teaching us about Mardi Gras, the children enjoyed making masks.

Week 2
The children have worked hard this week. In maths they have been learning about quarters, they have begun their new topic in History, What is a monarch? The children have settled into their new RWI groups and have worked had.
Week 1
The children returned to school with lots of holiday news and ready to work. I can’t believe it’s the last half term before the children move into Year 2. The year is going so fast and I am so proud of how much they have grown up this year.
This week we began learning about fractions, we enjoyed a music session with Piccolo music and we began practising for Sports Day.
