Week 6
What an end to the term! The children have had a really busy week filled with Easter crafts, observing and recording the weather, measuring volume and an Easter egg competition, a big thank you to everyone who entered. The entries were so creative. I wish you all a wonderful Easter and a great holiday.

Week 5
This week the children have enjoyed weighing and comparing the mass of objects. They have been stating whether the object is lighter or heavier. In English we have begun the story Alan’s big scary teeth. They have written wonderful character descriptions of Alan. In Geography they have continued exploring the weather and have learnt the 4 compass points.

Week 4
This week the children have been measuring objects and continuing to compare the length and height. In English they have been writing super character descriptions. In Geography they have been recapping their knowledge of the Uk and beginning their topic on the weather. In RE we learnt about Eid and Ramadan, the children enjoyed a craft morning making baskets and cards to show how Muslims celebrate.

Week 3
The children enjoyed celebrating Newcastle’s win this week! Especially wearing their black and white! They have been writing character descriptions of the Beast, beginning by sorting lots of adjectives. In maths they have been comparing measurements saying whether an object is longer, taller or shorter and measuring objects with cubes. In science they have continued their plants topic, learning about the life cycle of a plant and what plants need to grow.

This week the children have been interviewing the Beast from our book. In maths they have been placing numbers on a numberline and giving one more and one less. In science they have learnt about deciduous and evergreen trees. The children are enjoying their dance sessions too.

Week 1
A great first week back. The children have enjoyed predicting what will happen in ‘Billy and the Beast’. They have been extending their number knowledge of numbers up to 50. In science they have enjoyed learning about plants. It was wonderful to hear them share their favourite books and meet their best cuddly toy.
