Spring B
Week 6
On Monday the class had great fun in the P.E in the sunshine using the new playground equipment. In Geography the class have been learning the points on a compass and recording what they could see in each direction. On Tuesday the class had great fun in the bush craft area creating guardians out of clay. In R.E we have sequenced the Easter story.

Week 5
On Monday the class had great fun in the P.E workshop, moving to music and sequencing moves. In Maths the children have investigated heavier and lighter using non standard measure. The year two children have been reading scales using grams and kilograms. In Geography the class have explored the four seasons and thought of words linked to each one. In R.E we have learnt about the story of Moses and celebrated what we are grateful for in our lives. In English the children have enjoyed learning about similes to describe a character.

Week 4
The children have had a busy week and have been working very hard. On Monday the class had great fun in the P.E workshop, moving to music and sequencing moves. In Maths the children have continued to measure and order lengths and heights and read a ruler accurately. We have started a new topic in Geography and have been learning about the countries which make up the UK. In R.E we have started to learn about the Muslim faith and what how Muslims celebrate. In English we have focused on the presentation of our handwriting.

Week 3
In class this week the have written a setting description from Jack and the Beanstalk. The children have imagined that they were Jack and seeing the what lay in front of them as they reached the top of the beanstalk. In Maths the year two children have been measuring using a ruler. The year one children have been using non-standard measure focusing on shorter and longer and bigger and smaller. On Monday the class had great fun in the P.E workshop. In Science the children have been investigating what a plant needs to grow and sequencing the life cycle of a plant. The class have had a lot of fun using Doodle Maths in computing.

Week 2
In class this week the have written a recount of their visit to Pizza Express. In Maths the year two children have been multiplying and dividing using fives. The year one children have been focusing on numbers to 50 and finding one more and one less. On Monday the class had great fun in the P.E workshop. In Science the children identified some native wild plants and learnt about why some trees lose their leaves. The class have had a lot of fun using Doodle Maths in computing.

Week 1
In class this week the children have had a very busy week. On Tuesday we had a fantastic visit to Pizza Express in the Metro Centre. The children enjoyed learning how to make their very own pizza from start to finish. In Maths the year two children have been multiplying and dividing using tens. The year one children have been focusing on numbers to 50 and partitioning numbers into tens and ones. P.E. is now on a Monday and the class had great fun moving to music and sequencing moves. In Science the class labelled the parts of a plant and planted their own wild flower seeds. On Thursday the class enjoyed coming to school dressed in costumes or PJs for World Book Day.
