Week 5
This week the children have been writing the giants diary. We are thrilled with the children’s work. In maths, they have been subtracting. They have also been rehearsing their bonds to ten. It is great to hear so many of them are playing ‘Hit the Button’ at home to help with this. They had great fun making a printing plate and the results were fabulous. In science, they enjoyedvtestingtheabsorbency of the materials.

The children have enjoyed another action packed week. They had great fun labelling the classroom with nouns on post it notes. They have written super expanded noun phrases.

The children have worked really hard this week, we have had great fun making prints with plasticine, hot seating the giant, ordering transport before trains.

Week 2
It has been a busy week in school this week. The highlight of the week was our trip to the Synagogue where the children made me so proud. They sat and listened beautifully and were able to answer the questions, sharing all that they had learnt about Judaism. Well done Daffodils. We have enjoyed printing with our hands this week, sorting past and present transport, exploring 3D shapes and writing a diary entry from Billy, the character in our story. The week ended with a much enjoyed movie and snacks to celebrate ‘Our perfect attendance’.

Week 1
Happy new year! It has been lovely to welcome the children back to school this week and they have settled back into school wonderfully. It was so nice to hear their Christmas news.
This week we have been exploring 2d shapes, looking at Grandads secret giant and we have begun our new science topic on uses of everyday materials. We enjoyed a musical delight on Thursday afternoon. The children had a performance from professional musicians that incorporated music and story.
