Week 5

The children have enjoyed another action-packed week. They had great fun pretending to be the giant and using their imaginations to explore what he might have been doing at different moments in the story when he was not seen. The children continued to enjoy our Art topic of printing and created some amazing artwork. 

Week 4

The highlight of the week was our visit to the synagogue, where the children made us extremely proud. They listened respectfully, asked thoughtful questions, and confidently shared their knowledge and understanding of Judaism.

In class, we continued to work hard in mathematics, focusing on ordering and comparing numbers to 20. In art, the children used plasticine to create spiral stampers, which were then used to produce their own relief prints.

Week 2

It has been another busy and exciting week at school. 

In class this week, we have enjoyed printing with our hands in art, sorting transport from the past and present, exploring and ordering numbers up to 20 in mathematics, and writing a diary entry from the perspective of Billy, a character from our class story.

Week 1

Happy New Year! It has been a pleasure to welcome the children back to school this week, and they have settled back into routines beautifully. It was lovely to hear all about their Christmas holidays and share their exciting news.

This week, the children have been exploring teen numbers in mathematics and enjoying our class text "Grandad’s Secret Giant". We have also begun our new science topic, learning about the uses of everyday materials. On Thursday afternoon, the children were treated to a wonderful musical experience, watching a performance by professional musicians that brought music and storytelling together in an engaging and memorable way.
