Week 5

In Geography this week the children have been finding out about migration. They have explored which factors contribute towards migration and ranking them in order of importance.

Week 4

Our year 5 pupils have had bikeability this week, where they have learnt how to cycle safely on the road and achieved their level 2 badges, under the supervision of the council's bikeability instructors.  They started with a session on the key stage 2 yard and then progressed to the residential streets close to our school.

Week 3

The children have continued to produce some excellent work based on our English book, War Horse. This week they have been planning and writing a diary entry from the point of view of one of the characters. The children have be discussing lots of new vocabulary that they have found whilst reading chapters 3 and 4 of War Horse.

Week 2

This week the children have been reading the first three chapters of War Horse. They have explored a range of new vocabulary and they have made predictions about the book. The children also generated their own questions based on the text. They wrote a range of short, medium and long term questions based on the language features in chapter 1 and chapter 2.

Week 1

This week the children have been enjoying our class reading book, Fright Forest! It's an exciting story about Raven boy and Elf girl.
