Autumn A
Week one
Welcome back, I hope everyone has enjoyed their first week back in our new class. We have had a very busy week. In maths we have looked at how to partition numbers to 100. In English, we have wrote a recount about our summer holidays. In PE, we began to look at skill needed in a game of hockey. In music, we started to sing Mamma Mia. In geography, we looked at the Amazon rainforest. In re, we talked about what different signs and symbols mean.

Week Two
We have had another busy week this week. In maths, we have partitioned numbers to 100. We have started a new book in English called ‘The Great Kapok Tree.’ The children have loved looking at the dilemma in the story. We even had our first ever ukuleles lesson! That was very fun. Week Three
It was lovely to see so many of our parents in our welcome meeting on Wednesday. Thank you for taking the time to come with your child. I know some parents were un able to attend so if you would like to see the presentation it is on our class page. We had another fun week. In English, we started to think why the character would want to chop down The Great Kapok Tree and created our own conscience ally. In maths, we continued our place value work. We enjoyed singing Mamma Mia and using the glockenspiels. We even had a game of hockey. Have a look at some images below:
Week Four
This week we have began to write our very own dilemma stories, these will be continued next week. In maths we have almost finished learning all about place value. In geography, we have looked at what is happening to the rainforest and what we could do to change it. In science we looked at our skeleton.
Week Five
This week in maths, we have begun to add numbers together we had a lovely practical lesson to help show the children how exchanging works. In English, we finished writing our dilemma stories the children’s ideas and stories were fantastic. In computing we begun our unit on coding and looked at how a codes work. In geography we continued to look at what we can do to help the Amazon rainforest. In science we now understand how the muscles in our arms work. In PE we did our last sessions on hockey. Next week PE will be back to Monday and Friday sessions. Have a look at some images below:
Week Six
This week we started our new book in English called Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. We have loved reading all about Mr Wonka’s amazing chocolate. In maths we have continued our work on adding and subtracting. In computing we have continued to code and try and de bug our codes to make sure they work. In geography we have started a new topic called Who lives in Antarctica? In PE we have looked at our balance and created our own flows in yoga. Have a look at some pictures below.
