Week 7 Overview
We cannot believe this is the final week of the academic year already! We wish we could have finished the year with you all but we can't wait to see you in September. Make sure you have lots of fun over the summer, but don't forget to keep reading and working on your times tables as well!
This week's home learning has lots of transition activities to prepare you for your next class, as well as focusing on memories and what we have achieved this year. Stay safe and we'll see you soon!

One of the tasks this week is about Healthcare Heroes and asks you to represent our NHS with a piece of artwork. VE Day Celebrations
Take part in the 75th anniversary celebrations for VE day on 8th May with this fantastice VE day resource pack. Start by decorating your home with the Union Jack bunting. Then find out about VE day and why it was celebrated with the factfile and information PowerPoint. Have a go at cracking the morse code to reveal the secret message, colour in the VE day colouring sheets and make a spitfire glider. This pack contains all of the above and much more, to keep you busy during the VE day anniversary celebrations.

Don't forget to visit the Twinkl home learning hub which has daily activities for you to do too! Follow the link to take you to the hub.
Have fun learning all about ancient Egypt and plants. Take some photographs of your plants as they grow and we can share them. Remember you can send them to laura.jenks@westdenton.newcastle.sch.uk so I can see what you have all been getting up to!

We hope that you and your families are staying safe during this difficult time. School is a very strange place without you and we all miss you! My grandma Sylvia also sends her love and says she misses seeing you all every week.
Hopefully you have managed to work through some of your home learning packs, please just do what you can. Enjoy the Easter break under the circumstances and hopefully we get some nice weather so you can spend time outdoors!

We hope that our children and families are staying safe and well during this difficult time. Hopefully you have managed to achieve some of your Home Learning packs, however we completely understand that many of you are working from home, have other children that you will also be getting tasks for or have younger children at home too. They are there to help, please just try what you can.

Watch a daily Read Write Inc. Phonics lesson
Read Write Inc. are streaming a daily speed sounds film which will be available for 24 hours via FB and on YouTube. Parents can sign up to either their Facebook page or their YouTube channel. Set 2 and 3 speed sounds are taught daily to children reading Read Write Inc. colour band books.
