‘A Stepping Stone into the Future’

Summer Term A

Week 4

This week we enjoyed a super visit to the Laing Art Gallery where we were learning about sculpture. We looked at lots of different examples of scupture and the we sculpted eachother and sketched the sculpture we had created. We then used our sketches in the art workshop to create our own sculptures using clay.

Week 3

This week we went to the River Derwent to do some kick sampling. It was a beautiful day and we were amazed by all of the little creatures we caught! We even found a Cray Fish and he wasn't happy at all!

Week 2

We have been reading the book How To Wash a Wooly Mammoth in English this week and developing our understanding of the features of instructions so we can write our own. As part of this work we had to read and follow a set of instructions. They were really fun as the instructions were on how to make our own wolly mammoth out of a milk bottle.
