‘A Stepping Stone into the Future’

Autumn Term B

Week 7

Wow it has been a super Christmassy week in Year 2. The children were amazing in their Christmas play, we are sure you will agree. Then it was great to see the hall packed with grown ups and children creating wonderful Christmas crafts. Thank you so much for your support with these events.

Week 6

Rehearsals are now in full swing and we are so impressed with the children, learning songs, actions, dances and lines. They are amazing! In between all the rehearsals the children are still busy working and they are enjoying time reading for pleasure. The children were also treated to Goldilocks and the three bears pantomime. They really enjoyed it!

Week 5

This week the classrooms are full of Christmas song as the children are learning their songs for their Christmas play, you are in for a treat. Following on from the Great Fire of London, the children have been getting into role as Toby and interviewing him. The children’s speaking and listening skills are really developing.

Week 4

In Science this week the children have been investigating how we grow. They measured children’s feet from across the school to investigate if older always means bigger.

Week 3

This week the children enjoyed learning about Anti-Bullying and how to ‘Reach out’. They have continued to work hard in all their subjects.

Well done Year 2 !

Week 2

The children have enjoyed learning about The Great Fire of London this week, they have asked great historical questions, ordered the events and discussed the causes of the event. They have enjoyed writing their own poems and performing them.

Week 1

In English they have been reading and reciting poetry and beginning to research wolves. They enjoyed a hedgehog art afternoon and the children with 97% or above attendance enjoyed their movie and popcorn treat on Friday afternoon.
