β€˜A Stepping Stone into the Future’

Autumn Term B

Autumn 2 Week 6

We were very fortunate to have a visit from Jacqueline Atkinson from The Church of the Holy Spirit in West Denton. She talked to the children about Baptism, why babies get baptised and what happens during the service. Baby Olivia was β€˜baptised’ in class alongside her parents, godparents, friends and family.

Autumn 2 Week 5

Congratulations to our 5 children who received an Achievers Award this week. Well done to Azhe, Seren, Lia, Jessica and Isla, we’re sure their families will be proud of them! πŸ˜ŠπŸ†πŸ‘

This week we put on our Christmas jumpers and Santa Shark crowns ready for our fabulous KS1 Christmas performance! Keep an eye on the website so you can see it for yourselves. It should be available for families to view online the week beginning 13th December. We hope it gets everyone in the Christmas spirit! πŸ˜ŠπŸŽ„πŸŽ…πŸΌπŸŒŸ

Autumn 2 Week 4

Well done to Ali, Amelia, Leo, Octavia and Charlie this week! They were delighted to receive their certificates from Mr MingStones!

We also explored the senses by uses our noses to guess the smell, and tasted foods to see if they were sweet, salty, sour or bitter. Sweet and salty were our favourite tastes!

In our Science work this week, we have been finding different ways to group and classify animals. Here we have sorted them according to what they eat, and whether they are carnivores, omnivores or herbivores.

Autumn 2 Week 3

During Anti-Bullying Week, we talked about emotions and used art to represent different feelings using colour, line and shape. No Achievers Awards this week due to our fabulous cinema trip!

Autumn 2 Week 2

A huge Well Done to our children receiving Achievers Awards this week! Owen, Kaiden, Lia, Jenson and Lacey were very proud of their certificates πŸ˜ŠπŸ†πŸ‘.

We enjoyed learning about Remembrance Day this week and finding out why many people choose to wear a poppy at this time of year. We thought that The Great War, also known as World War 1, sounded terrible. We thought it would be very dangerous and scary to be a soldier. We made our own beautiful poppies

Autumn 2 Week 1

Mr MingStones called in to hand out our Achievers Awards this week. Congratulations to Amelia, Malik, Amelia, Macie and Seren! πŸ˜ŠπŸ†πŸ‘

We discussed Firework Safety this week and learned how we could keep ourselves, our families and pets safe on Bonfire Night πŸ”₯πŸŽ‡πŸŽ†

We have been working on subtraction this week, using apparatus, then pictures and then recording as a number sentence.
