‘A Stepping Stone into the Future’

Summer Term B

Week 4

What a busy week we've had this week! We have continued learning about time in maths and reading our class text Oliver and the Seawigs.

By Wednesday all of our Butterflies had emerged from their chrysalises. We have loved watching them change from tiny caterpillars into beautiful butterflies and were sad to have to release them however, it was amazing seeing them fly away to live a new life.

On Thursday we had our Family Phase day and we all enjoyed the carousel of Life Skills activities Litter Picking, Making s'mores on the fire in the bush craft area and also making clay bees. Then we all enjoyed another tasty treat in the allotments eating pizza cooked in our pizza oven. It was lovely that so many of our parents were able to come into school and enjoy the fun with us.

Week 3

There has been a lot going on this week in school. On Monday we had Bee Day and we learned all about Bees and the vital role they play in our lives. We also drew our own very detailed bees and designed a back ground like a honeycomb. We cut out our Bees and then mounted them onto our back ground and the results were very effective. We also had our 3 lesson of Street Dance with Vincent where we practiced our moves and we are becoming super dancers. We also enjoyed another super session in Bush Craft with Mrs McHatton where we continued to build and develop our life skills.

We have also been learning all about time in Maths this week, it has been a tricky topic but we stuck at it and are much better at telling the time on an analogue clock now.

On Friday we had our Big Me Day. We all came to school dressed as the person we wanted to be when we grow up and we talked about a lot of different jobs that we could do and thought about what our dreams for the future were.
