Autumn Term A
Week 7
Pumpkin Soup
We shared the story "Pumpkin Soup" and did some lovely activities linked to Autumn. Nursery explored the inside of a pumpkin on our investigation table. The children had fun making Autumn prints and hedgehog pictures. In the water area they made their very own pumpkin soup.
We ended the half term with a spooktacular Halloween party.
Week 6
The Gingerbread Man
We loved the story of "The Gingerbread Man". Everyone was so good at joining in with the story. We painted, decorated and ate gingerbread men. In Maths children played games and helped the gingerbread man count his buttons.
Week 5
Jack and the Beanstalk
We have loved listening to traditional tales and have focused this week on "Jack and the Beanstalk". The children took part in lots of exciting and fun activities linked to the story. Nursery enjoyed taking part in sensory messy cloud play which developed their language and observational skills and 1-1 counting challenges. We have had as much fun as possible whilst learning!
"Meg and Mog" Zoo Lab visit
Rob the wizard came to visit Nursery. We helped him cast spells and met a range of animals. Nursery handled different animals and enjoyed learning some interesting facts.
Week 4
The Three Little Pigs
This week the children have been showing us how they can hold a pencil and draw a person for their 'Learning Journey's'. They have continued to explore the equipment, in particular the joining and construction resources. We have also been listening to traditional tales and using the puppets to re-tell the stories. A group of children built houses using large construction materials and acted out "The Three Little Pigs" story.
Then I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll blow your house down!
Week 3
Our First Week in Nursery
We are now familiar with the classroom and becoming even more familiar with our daily routines. The children have had a wonderful time exploring and learning how to use the classroom equipment.
