‘A Stepping Stone into the Future’

Summer Term B

Week 7

We’ve had a brilliant and busy last week in school. On Monday afternoon, we watched a movie and ate lots of yummy treats that the children brought in to the classroom. On Tuesday, we had a lovely and emotional Leavers Ceremony on the school field. Photos of these can be found on the Phase 3 page below the links or click on the link below. The children also watched their Leavers video which can also be found on the link below. We hope you enjoy watching it and it may bring a tear or two to your eye. We topped the day off nicely with Bushcraft in the afternoon where we all enjoy one of Mrs McHatton’s sausage sandwiches cooked on the campfire. We’ve taken full advantage of the good weather and produced street art in the yard. The children have been a pleasure to have in our class and we will miss them very much. We wish them all the very best for the future. Keep being amazing!

Week 6

It’s been another busy week in our second last week of the year! In science, the children have very much enjoyed making circuits. You can see some of their work in the gallery below. In maths we’ve been doing reflection and translation. We hope you have a nice rested weekend ready for the last week of primary school next week. We have lots of fun things planned!

Week 5

The highlight this week was definitely the Lightwater Valley trip on Wednesday. All the children and staff had a fantastic time and the weather was amazing too. It was so nice to see the children enjoying themselves and we were impressed with how brave they were - especially with the Claw! We had so much fun, some of us enjoyed a pleasant rest on the bus coming home. See if you can spot who in the gallery below. We've also had a visit from the ice-cream van this week as a special treat for the year 6's.

We've enjoyed celebrating England getting to the Euros final by coming to school in Red and White today. We wish them every success on Sunday. COME ON ENGLAND!

Week 4

We’ve had an emotional yet lovely morning filming our leavers videos this morning. It was so nice to see the thought and creativity the children put into their ideas. It’s going to be fun putting it all together and we can’t wait for you to see it at the end of the term. In English this week we’ve been writing and editing a letter on the laptops based on our class reading book Clockwork. We’ve also played football rounders with NUFC and you can see these in the gallery below.

Week 3

We’ve had a fun week this week with Bushcraft and bridge building. The children worked really hard and well together tidying up the allotments. They made a real difference to the area and we were very impressed with how enthusiastic they were. On Friday, the children were given a task of building a suspension bridge using paper, string and tape. See how well they did in the gallery below. In maths, we have been doing area and perimeter of shapes, and in English we have continued work on our book Clockwork.

Week 2

This week we have started our new book in English called 'Clockwork' by Philip Pullman. We have used it to write creative clockwork poems and also an adventure story. See some of the work below. In Maths we have continued fractions. We had the NUFC Foundation team in for PE teaching us some slick footy skills, and been looking at and labeling a map of the UK in Geography.

Week 1

Welcome back to our last half term in Primary School! We started our short week in the Bushcraft area with Mrs McHatton, making muffins on the campfire. We've also planned and performed a presentation in small groups about online safety, and designed posters about recycling. See our gallery below.
