‘A Stepping Stone into the Future’

Summer Term A

Week 5

What a lovely week we’ve had. The children produced some hilarious fake illnesses in English based on our book “Clockwork”. We had a fun morning with free time in the bushcraft area on Thursday morning which was a lovely reward for all the hard work the children have done these past few weeks. In Geography, we looked at maps, identifying features of rivers, and today we’ve been designing and building bridges in DT.

Water Fight Treat

Week 4

That’s SATs week ALL DONE! A huge well done to each and every year 6 child. You all showed great resilience and determination, you were steady and focused and we couldn’t be more proud. It was so great to see so many at breakfast club (see our gallery). We hope you enjoyed the water fight. Photos to follow. Have a great, relaxing weekend, you have all earned it.

Week 3

We had a great day on Thursday celebrating the Kings Coronation. We made crowns and designed lunch bags, played on the field and ate ice cream.

Week 2

We have started our new book in English this week called Clockwork by Philip Pullman. We are only up to page 25 so far but the children have been really engaged and produced some great work so far with an edit and draft diary entry and a visual description of a main character based on evidence from the text. In maths we've been learning about angle in a rectangle and drawing nets. We have continued with our SAT's preparation and had Bushcraft on Wednesday. Great work Year 6.

Week 1

Welcome back everyone! We hope you had a wonderful Easter break and are ready for this next busy term. SAT's are fast approaching now but the children have come back ready to learn which is a great start. We've been doing lots of SAT's practice this week so hopefully the children are feeling more settled and prepared.

In English, we have been writing a flashback piece based on The Piano. This was done over a couple of days and the children produced some beautiful work as you can see in the gallery below. In maths, we have been looking at pie charts and angles.
