Our youngest children in school, the Nursery and Reception classes are taught within the school's Foundation Stage. The Early Years curriculum is based on the recommended 'Early Years Foundation Stage Framework'.

 

The school uses the phonics scheme Read Write Inc. from Foundation stage and throughout Key Stage 1. This is then built on in KS2 by using the Reading Plus scheme which promotes reading stamina and the acquisition of high-level reading and thinking skills.

For children over the age of five, WDPS ensures it covers the statutory knowledge, skills and understanding from the English National Curriculum which is made up of these subjects:
