    Staying Safe Online

    😊 Be Kind Online

Being online is just like being in school. We use kind words and make good choices. If something feels unkind or uncomfortable or confusing, tell a trusted adult straight away.

Kind choices online help everyone feel safe and happy.

    🔒 Protect Your Personal Information

Never share your full name, address, school name, phone number or passwords. If a website or game asks for these details, speak to an adult first.

People online are not always who they say they are, so keeping information private keeps you safe.

🧑‍🏫 Talk to a Trusted Adult

If something online worries you, upsets you, confuses you or feels wrong, tell an adult straight away. You will never be in trouble for asking for help.

Trusted adults can help you make safe choices and fix problems quickly.

    🖱️ Think Before You Click

Pop‑ups, links and messages can sometimes lead to unsafe places. If you are not sure, do not click. Ask an adult to check.

Stopping and checking keeps you safe from scams and tricky websites.

✔️ Use Safe Websites and Apps

Only use websites, games and apps that your parents or teachers say are safe. If you want to try something new, ask first.

Safe websites are checked by adults to make sure they are right for children.

💬 Be Smart with Friends and Messages

Online friends are not the same as real‑life friends. Never add people you do not know, send photos to strangers or reply to messages that feel wrong. Tell an adult if someone you do not know tries to talk to you.

If a message feels wrong, it probably is — stop and tell an adult.

    🚨 If Something Goes Wrong

    • Stop what you are doing
    • Close the screen if you can
    • Tell a trusted adult

This is called “Stop, Block, Tell” and it helps keep you safe.

    💛 Where to Get Help

You can talk to your teacher, your parent or carer or another trusted adult in school. You can also visit Childline for advice and support.
