Children at West Denton Primary can join a variety of extracurricular clubs that help them learn new skills, build confidence and discover what they enjoy. Clubs take place at lunchtime or after school and are led by staff who love sharing their interests with the children. Our aim is for every child to find something they enjoy and feel proud of.
Our clubs change each term so children can experience a wide variety of activities. Examples include:
⚽ Sports clubs such as football, cricket and multi-skills
🎨 Creative clubs such as art and drama
🎵 Music clubs including choir
📚 Reading and story club
🌱 Gardening and outdoor learning
🎲 Board games
Each term we publish a timetable so families can see what is available and choose the sessions that suit their child.
Places can be booked through our school office. Some clubs have limited spaces and may fill quickly. If a club is full we will keep a waiting list and contact families when a place becomes available. If your child would like to try a new club please speak to the school office or your child’s class teacher.
We ask that children:
Attend their chosen club regularly
Let staff know if they cannot attend
Wear suitable clothing for active clubs
Bring any required equipment if needed
All clubs are run by school staff who make sure all activities are safe, well supervised and enjoyable.
We love to celebrate the achievements of children who take part in clubs. This may include certificates, performances, sporting events, displays of work or sharing successes in assemblies. Taking part helps children grow in confidence and feel proud of their progress.
